Artessia K. House leads Tess House Law, PLLC, a family law practice in San Antonio, Texas. Artessia began her professional journey as a certified teacher for the San Antonio Independent School District, teaching students for six years. After earning a B.A. in Political Science and a Juris Doctor from St. Mary’s University, Artessia engaged in civil rights advocacy, taking on notable cases that garnered attention on platforms such as CNN, Yahoo News, and HuffPost. Her legal challenges against institutions like the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (CPS) further underscore her commitment to justice.
Artessia is a barrister in the William S. Sessions American Inn of Court. She has served as the Chair of the African American Lawyers Section of the State Bar of Texas, advocating for the interests and representation of African American lawyers throughout the state.
